Install and use alerts

After you configure GCP metrics, you can install the prebuilt alerts and review the alert rules available for Google Cloud services.

Install alerts

Preconfigured alerts require a one-time installation.

Note

If you are assigned the Viewer Grafana Cloud basic role or are not assigned a Grafana Cloud basic role, you must have the Alerting:Rules Writer, Alerting:Set provisioning status, and Folders:Writer fixed roles to install alerts and access folders. For more information on assigning roles, refer to Assign RBAC roles.

To install preconfigured alerts:

  1. After you configure metrics, click the Configuration tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Alerts Installation section and click Install.

To view preconfigured alerts, click the Alerts tab.

View and use alerts

To view alerts, open the Alerts tab. To see a recommendation for alert resolution, click the tooltip in the row of the Summary column. In the Alert column, click the alert to view the dashboard for that service.
