What is Fleet Management?

Fleet Management is a Grafana Cloud control plane for managing collectors at scale.

The problem it solves

You’ve set up a collector on a server or two that’s collecting metrics and logs, and sending them to Grafana Cloud. It works great. But now you’re planning to roll out collectors across your entire infrastructure. That could be dozens of machines, maybe hundreds or thousands.

Every time you need to change what those collectors are collecting, you’re looking at updating configuration files on each machine individually. Maybe you’re SSH’ing into hosts and editing configs manually. Or maybe you’re using Ansible or Terraform, so you’re updating playbooks or HCL files, triggering CI/CD pipelines, and coordinating rollouts carefully to avoid drift or disruption. Either way, it’s operational overhead.
