# Configure handling and select a contact point

In this milestone, you keep the default no-data and error handling, then select a contact point for the rule.

1. In the **Set evaluation behavior** section, click **Configure no data and error handling** to expand the options.
   
   Leave both drop-downs at their defaults: **No Data** for no data or all null values, and **Error** for execution error or timeout.
2. Select an available **Contact point**. You can use **empty** to save a practice rule, but it cannot deliver notifications. For real alerts, select or create a contact point with a destination you control.

You have set handling defaults and selected a contact point. Next, add the notification message and save the rule.
