# Set evaluation behavior

Evaluation behavior sets how often the query runs, how long a problem must last before the alert fires, and how long the alert keeps firing after the condition resolves.

In this milestone, set the evaluation interval, pending period, and keep-firing duration.

1. In **Set evaluation behavior**, set **Evaluation interval** to **1m**.
2. Set **Pending period** to **1m** so the condition must stay true before the alert fires.
3. Set **Keep firing for** to **0s** so the alert stops firing when the condition resolves.

Your evaluation schedule is set. Next, you configure no-data and error handling and choose a contact point.
